Vestah W. Blye Scholarship

The Morgan State University Alumni Association, Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter awards scholarships to eligible undergraduate students attending Morgan State University (Morgan). Scholarships are awarded on a non-discriminatory basis. This scholarship is named in honor of Vestah W. Blye who graduated from Morgan in 1939.  She was a chartered member of the DC Chapter and attended the Alumni Association as a member of the Board of Directors and as an interested alumna for over 50 years.  This scholarship honors her outstanding commitment, service and dedication to the promotion of the ideals of the DC Chapter and countless volunteer hours in the promotion of the educational mission of the University.

Eligibility

All applicants must be either current Morgan State University students or graduating seniors from a Metropolitan Washington, DC area high school who have been accepted to Morgan for the current school year.

The student must also meet the following criteria:

·      Be a citizen of the United States or permanent resident with a valid visa.

·      Be a resident of the Washington, DC Area as recognized by the Council of Governments.

·      Be a full time student who has maintained a cumulative academic average of 2.8 or better out of a possible 4.0
